Share your skills and resources! – Volunteer today!

Taking care of our wonderful herd, as well as the beautiful Ranch, requires the effort of more than one person.  Our volunteer program is designed to bring people that have a deep love and respect for horses together with horses that need love and respect. Through a series on hands-on experiences, including diet, grooming, handling, medical and dental care, round pen training and turnouts, our hope is that volunteers will acquire the knowledge to interact with horses in a positive manner. By learning and demonstrating levels of responsibility and knowledge, our volunteers will advance to the point of teaching others. Prior equine experience is preferred but not necessary.

And volunteering at Willow Pond doesn’t always have to do with horses.

A volunteer with carpentry or mechanical skills could help with new projects or repair the myriad of things that are always broken around the ranch!

A volunteer with administrative skills or previous nonprofit experience could lend their expertise to the office or to our grant seeking efforts.

A volunteer with special event experience would be wonderful to have on board, helping us to imagine and implement the kinds of events that will enable Willow Pond to continue to offer its services to the community!

Note: Age Limitation
Due to the potential danger of our daily functions, children under the age of 10 cannot volunteer, and children between the ages of 10 and 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Potential volunteers less than 16 must have horse experience, and be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian for his/her first site visit.

Minor volunteers must have the chauffeuring parent/legal guardian remain on site during their volunteer hours. They may not be dropped off and picked up.  Moms, dads, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to join in and volunteer themselves!
Everyone must sign a release of Liability to be on the ranch.

Contact the barn at (831) 464-2276 or fill out the contact form , and it will be forwared to us for more information, or to schedule an orientation.
